The main objective of Actyren-HD is to evaluate the effectiveness of an exercise program on improving the physical capacity of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Additionally, its effect on quality of life, function during activities of daily living, strength and symptoms of anxiety and depression will be investigated.

The ResiCOVID19 project has two main objectives: to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the long term care system in Catalonia but also to their residents, families, and health care workers. The second objective is to develop proposals of improvement for the care model in Catalonia.

Industrial Doctorates
KOKU Bladder, led by an international team of researchers, aims to enhance bladder health in adults aged 50+ by co-creating and testing a digital health program using behavior change techniques, gamification, and user-centered design.
It is a quasi-experimental pilot study of the doctoral thesis of Iván Sánchez-Martínez. The project investigates the effectiveness of Validation Method (VM) training in enhancing job satisfaction and motivation among nursing home caregivers.
This project is part of Mireia Vilamala‘s doctoral thesis, linked to the Industrial Doctorate program between Osonament and UVic, directed by Dra. Cristina Vaqué and Dr. Ruben del Rio. This program aims to improve dietary habits in individuals with severe mental disorders by increasing fruit and vegetable consumption through educational empowerment.
The project is performed by the Zyrcular Foods group in collaboration with the UVic-UCC. This consists of an industrial PhD carried out by Gil Vila Clarà and supervised by Anna Vila-Martí and Míriam Torres-Torres to develop sustainable meat alternatives by studying emerging plant-based materials and their behavior in processing.
