Verónica Salgado, the Ph.D. student at the TR2Lab, presented an e-poster at the 33rd Conference of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), held in Milan, Italy from May 3rd to May 5th, 2023.

The e-poster titled “Autologous platelet-rich plasma as a personalized therapy for treating chronic wounds: a prospective cohort study” (1) is focused on identifying clinical variables that impact the success of the therapy and the healing time in a cohort of 64 patients with chronic wounds treated with autologous PRP. The study emphasized the significance of Frailty-Index (FI-VIG), wound area, and some biochemical parameters in chronic wound healing with autologous PPR. Additionally, FI-VIG and wound area were found to influence the healing time as well.
