On November 29th, Ruth Vilardell received from La Fundació La Farga the second award “Vicenç Fisas i Comella”, instituted to support excellent thesis degree project.
With this award, the La Farga Foundation wants to promote: knowledge applied to social development, creativity as a basis for innovation and progress, and awareness for the care and sustainability of the environment.
Ruth Vilardell’s Nursing degree project title (original language Catalan) “El grau de coneixement i satisfacció dels pacients diabètics tipus 2 d’Osona amb el seu tractament farmacològic“.
Her degree thesis was part of one of the research projects developed in the research line health conditions and tissue regeneration led by Ph.D. Ester Goutan.

Barba (Medicina UVic) Financial support: APR-IRIS-CC The Project “Lactic acid as a marker of therapeutic response” has received approval from the IRIS-CC ethics committee and will start recruiting patients in earnest. The project is a collaboration between Consorci Hospitalari de Vic (Dr M. Parera) and the faculty of medicine UVic (Dr I.Barba) and will evaluate lactic acid as a potential marker of therapeutic response in non-small cell lung cancer patients. Bringing Science Closer to the Classroom for a Second Consecutive Year during European Researchers’ Night 2026
As part of European Researchers' Night 2026, PhD candidate Clara Masó once again visited Els Castanyers School in Viladrau to bring science closer to young students. For the second consecutive year, pupils from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade took part in interactive workshops designed to introduce them to scientific research, health, hygiene, microorganisms and the scientific method through hands-on activities and discussion.
