On November 29th, Ruth Vilardell received from La Fundació La Farga the second award “Vicenç Fisas i Comella”, instituted to support excellent thesis degree project.
With this award, the La Farga Foundation wants to promote: knowledge applied to social development, creativity as a basis for innovation and progress, and awareness for the care and sustainability of the environment.
Ruth Vilardell’s Nursing degree project title (original language Catalan) “El grau de coneixement i satisfacció dels pacients diabètics tipus 2 d’Osona amb el seu tractament farmacològic“.
Her degree thesis was part of one of the research projects developed in the research line health conditions and tissue regeneration led by Ph.D. Ester Goutan.

Clara Masó participates in the “Present Your Thesis in 4 Minutes” competition at UVic-UCC
Clara Masó, PhD candidate, participated on May 13 in the 9th edition of the competition “Present Your Thesis in 4 Minutes”, hosted by the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) in the context of the first European Doctoral Day. The event brought together 14 doctoral students from 8 different PhD programmes, all taking on the challenge of explaining their research in just four minutes. Marta Casals Zorita presented her doctoral thesis at the International Nurses Day in Osona
Marta Casals, a member of TR2Lab, delivered a presentation on her doctoral thesis titled "Education program to improve adherence to self-care recommendations for people with complex wounds of the lower extremities" on May 12th. The event provoided an opportunity for professionals to meet and share experiences and insights regarding the nursing profession. The theme of the meeting was "Empowerment that saves lives: caring as nurses in the context of war and humanitarian crises".
Extracellular Matrix-Derived Hydrogel to Model and Study COPD
Renata Kelly da Palma carried out a three-month research stay in Brazil, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP), in collaboration with the research group led by Prof. Dr Paulo Manuel Pêgo-Fernandes. During this period, she worked on the development of extracellular matrix-derived hydrogels to model and study Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). These hydrogels are biomaterials obtained from extracellular matrix components and are designed to reproduce some characteristics of the natural environment of tissues.
