On March 20th, as part of the doctoral program in Comprehensive care and
health services, Marta Casals Zorita defended her doctoral thesis titled “Educational program to improve adherence to self-care recommendations for people with complex wounds of the lower extremities” This research was conducted within research line of “Wound Healing in innovation” and was supervised by Dr. Elisabet Sarri and Dr. Marta Ferrer.
The jury, composed of Dr. Javier Soldevilla from the La Rioja Health Service, Dr. Emilia Chirveches from UVic-UCC and Dr. Erica Homs from the University of Girona, awarded the doctoral thesis the highest academic distinction, Excellent Cum Laude.
In the words of the new doctor “It is an educational program aimed at people with complex lower extremity wounds, based on validated scientific recommendations, featuring proprietary informational leaflets and the adapted and validated Catalan version of the Wound-QoL-17 scale for quality-of-life assessment”.
This thesis was made by the support of the Industrial Doctorates Programme of the Government of Catalonia, within the framework of an industrial doctorate.
