Guidelines for contributors

We welcome articles in English, French, German, Spanish or Catalan.

Generally speaking, 200 – 700 words. Longer texts can be split into separate articles.

Style

  • Articles tend to be more personal and less academic than other typical specialist content, written in the first person and aimed at a general readership.
  • Regarding text format, we do not use bold letters to emphasise words or use slashes – / – to mark alternatives.
  • We tend to avoid complex layouts and long sentences.
  • Articles should contain links to other items of interest that can be consulted on the web.
  • Articles should contain at least one usable (not pirated) image for illustrative purposes.
  • At least one image must be included. The image must either belong to the author of the article, be copyright-free, or have been provided with permission for use.
  • If in doubt, the simplest option is usually the most elegant.

Suggestions for topics

  • Reviews of books that have not yet been translated into Spanish or Catalan, preferably recently published works.
  • Reflections on teaching practice or professional experience.
  • Reports on congresses, conferences, seminars, or other events related to academic or professional life, as well as accounts of visits or stays at other institutions.
  • Recommendations of linguistic or literary readings.
  • Reflections on language or cultural phenomena.
  • Reflections on the profession of translation, profiles of translators, anecdotes related to the field, and similar topics.

If you want to publish an article, please use the contact form to explain your proposal to us.
