Garrins Metàl·lics is the UVic-UCC robotics team, with the objective of participating in national, state, and international competitions.
The team was created in 2012, and during the first four years, it competed in the First-Tech Challenge tournament. Since the 2016-2017 academic year, it has participated in Eurobot, a national and European-level tournament in which a robot capable of autonomously solving a challenge must be built.
The team is constituted annually through a selection process. This season is made up of 14 students from the Mechatronics Engineering degree and the Multimedia, Applications, and Video Games degree.
We have coach Sergi de las Muelas, a mechatronics engineer, professor of the Mechatronics Engineering degree, and a former member of the team.

WHAT WE OFFER
For University Students
Being part of Garrins Metàl·lics is an opportunity to put academic knowledge into practice and take part in a real-world robotics project. Throughout the season, team members work on the design, construction and programming of autonomous robots to compete in Eurobot, while developing their technical and personal skills in a collaborative environment.
In addition to learning from other team members and benefiting from the experience gained each season, participating in the project allows students to develop skills in problem-solving, planning, project management and teamwork.
RAC Credit Recognition
Students can receive recognition for up to 6 RAC credits (3 credits per academic year), provided they meet the required commitment hours.
Spaces and Resources
The team has its own space at the Torre dels Frares campus, equipped with facilities and tools to design, build and test robots, as well as to hold meetings and carry out management and communication tasks.

Garrins Metàl·lics collaborates with companies that support the project through sponsorships and contributions of products, services or resources. These collaborations are essential to advancing the design and construction of our robots, tackling Eurobot challenges and continuing to grow the project.
