Developing an innovative IN-service Training model for ECEC Staff
The general objective ofINTEC is to develop and disseminate an innovative approach to the training of early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals based on continuing education at the European level.
The project is coordinated by Vänersborg Kommun (Sweden). Participants include SERN. Sweden-Emilia Romagna Network (Italy), Bambini Bicocca (Italy), Erasmus Hogeschool Brussel (Belgium), Liepājas Universitātes (Latvia), and the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia.
INTEC partners advocate for a radically new approach that emphasizes the crucial role of the European dimension in the professional development and continuing education of early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals. As highlighted in European Education and Training 2020, " The participation of all ECEC staff in high-quality initial education and training programs and continuing professional development (CPD) is key to improving the quality of early childhood education services.".
The specific objectives are: a) To create a transnational curriculum of continuing education competencies for ECEC professionals; b) To develop a set of new training content and courses for multiple groups; c) To strengthen the European dimension of ECEC staff training by facilitating the development of a training approach based on transnational mobility.
The products will be: a) European Curriculum for the continuing education of early childhood teachers; b) Training courses by early childhood education professionals.
To develop these products, researchers from Glosa and GREUV work together with experts and professionals in early childhood education to explore methodologies for designing future training programs. They jointly assess the content of training courses on topics identified as priorities at the European level, as well as the effectiveness, evaluation, and assessment of continuing education.
