From the curriculum to the classroom: tools and resources for learning how to guide knowledge construction through dialogue

Start: 14/11/2023 – End: 31/05/2025
Project reference: 2023 ARMIF 00026

The DIALEDU project is a research initiative led by the Knowledge Construction Research Group (GRECC) at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), within the framework of the Initial Teacher Training Improvement Program (MIF) funded by AGAUR. The main objective of this project is to improve the training of future primary school teachers by developing their ability to use dialogue as a key tool in knowledge construction in the classroom. It is not just a matter of incorporating dialogue as a methodological strategy, but of understanding it as a fundamental practice that structures the pedagogical relationship and promotes meaningful learning among students.

DIALEDU aims to influence both the planning phase of teaching interventions and their implementation and subsequent critical reflection, promoting a more conscious, analytical, and committed professional approach to teaching. The project involves four Catalan universities (UVic-UCC, UB, UdG, and URV) and several schools in the Osona region, with which it works collaboratively to generate real learning scenarios. These partnerships allow future teachers to experience and analyze real educational situations, focusing on oral interaction as a driver of learning and a way to guide children's cognitive development.

With this approach, DIALEDU helps strengthen the link between theory and practice, enhance more critical and contextualized initial training, and promote an educational model that values words as a tool for educational transformation.
