Aiguacció
The Aiguacció project, coordinated by UVic-UCC, was created in response to the increase in droughts and the decrease in river flow, especially in the Ter River, as a result of climate change. This situation has led, for example, to a reduction in the number of mallards in the area due to increased water pollution. In response to this local problem, the project aims to raise awareness among children and young people about water scarcity and pollution, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 6: Clean water and sanitation.
Aiguacció is developed through an educational proposal based on game-based learning (*ABL), and includes the creation of a permanent educational escape room at the Ter Museum (Manlleu), as well as teaching materials for schools. These resources aim to promote inclusive science, encourage scientific thinking, motivation, and social interaction among students aged 8 to 14.
With pilot tests in schools in Vic, the project expects to reach 150 students and 8 teachers, and involves the participation of research groups from UVic-UCC (GRECC, GEA, and CERM) and the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.
