Dr.Elisabet Sarri and PhD candidate Natalia Palacio, members of TR2Lab, participated in the ETRS 2026 Annual Meeting, “Research, Repair, Regenerate”, held in Rouen, France, from 2 to 4 September 2026. Organized by the European Tissue Repair Society (ETRS), the meeting is recognized as one of the leading international forums for researchers and clinicians working in tissue repair, wound healing and regenerative medicine.
The conference brought together experts from across Europe and beyond to discuss emerging strategies for improving wound healing, with scientific sessions covering topics such as inflammation and tissue repair, biomaterials and bioengineering, wound microbiology and biofilms, stem cells, regenerative medicine and the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
During the event, Elisabet Sarri and Natalia Palacio presented a poster entitled“Association of Inflammatory Biomarkers and Wound Size with Healing Outcomes in Chronic Wounds”. The work is part of Natalia Palacio’s doctoral research and focuses on identifying clinical and biological factors associated with healing outcomes in people with chronic wounds. The study contributes to a better understanding of wound healing trajectories and may help support the development of more personalized and effective treatment strategies.
This work was carried out with the collaboration of other members of TR2Lab, including Marta Casals-Zorita, Clara Masó-Albareda and Marta Otero Viñas.
