IX International Conference Storytelling Revisited:
Artificial Intelligence and Gender
UNIVERSITY OF VIC – CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF CATALONIA
Vic (Barcelona), 25th November 2026
This International Conference aims to provide a forum for researchers to reflect on the role of Artificial Intelligence as a creative tool in contemporary storytelling, with a particular focus on gender perspectives, representation and diversity.
This academic meeting will explore how AI reshapes storytelling practices and how algorithms may reproduce, reinforce or challenge gender stereotypes, opening new possibilities for inclusive and diverse narratives. The Conference seeks to encourage critical reflection on the social, cultural and ethical dimensions of AI-mediated storytelling.
The Conference will address the ways in which AI-driven technologies—such as chatbots and generative systems—are transforming narrative production and reception. Special attention will be paid to the processes of automated story generation, the ethical and aesthetic implications of shared authorship, and the cultural impact of algorithmic creativity.
The Conference will be held in hybrid format. Face-to-face in Sala Segimon Serrallonga (University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia – Vic) and online via ZOOM.
The organizing committee is composed of several research groups across UVic-UCC, i.e. GLOSSA, GETLIHC and TRACTE from the Faculty of Education, Translation, Sports and Psychology (FETEP), EMPREN, from the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FEC), and ISaMBeS, from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare (FCSB).
