El tribunal, format per la Dra. Raquel Martínez Buján de la Universidad de la Coruña, la Dra. Sara Moreno Colom de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona i la Dra. Lucía del Moral Espín de la Universidad de Cádiz, va atorgar a la tesi la qualificació d’Excel·lent “Cum Laude”.

En paraules de la doctora, “La recerca sobre el paper dels projectes comunitaris ha fet emergir diferents elements que capgiren l’actual organització social de la cura. Concretament, aquests projectes contribueixen a deixar de considerar la cura una qüestió individual i privada, a revalorar els seus impactes positius al benestar de les persones i a empoderar a les persones amb necessitats intenses de cures”. Els projectes estudiats en el marc de la tesi doctoral han estat els grups de criança compartida, les cooperatives co-housing senior i els grups de suport mutu en l’àmbit de la salut mental.[:en]On 16^th January, within the framework of the PhD Program in Gender Studies: Culture, Society and Politics, Christel Keller Garganté, researchers at the UNESCO Chair Women, Development, and the Research Group Inclusive Societies, Politics, and Communities at the Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya. The dissertation has the title “Caring in common. Community projects in the democratization of care” and has been supervised by Dr. Sandra Ezquerra Samper.

The dissertation committee, which was compounded by Dr. Raquel Martínez Buján of the University of La Coruña, Dr. Sara Moreno Colom of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Dr. Lucía del Moral Espín of the University of Cádiz, awarded the thesis with the qualification of Excellent “Cum Laude”.

Quoting what the doctors said, “Research on the role of community projects has led to the emergence of different elements that change the current social organization of care. Specifically, these projects contribute to stop considering care as an individual and private matter, to reevaluate its positive impacts on people’s well-being and to empower people with intense care needs”. The projects that Dr. Keller has studied under the umbrella of her dissertation project have been parenting groups, senior co-housing, and mutual support groups in the area of mental health.[:]
