Recently, Dr. Marta Casals, member of TR2Lab, participated in the Congress of the Spanish Society of Geriatric and Gerontological Nursing (SEEGG), a leading scientific meeting for professionals dedicated to the care of older adults.

As part of the scientific programme, Dr. Marta Casals presented an oral communication entitled “Translation, Cross-Cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Wound-QoL-17 Scale into Catalan.” The study aimed to provide a validated instrument for assessing the impact of chronic wounds on the quality of life of Catalan-speaking patients.

The presentation described the translation and cultural adaptation process of the questionnaire, as well as the psychometric validation results. This work contributes to expanding the availability of reliable and culturally adapted assessment tools for clinical practice and research, supporting a more comprehensive and patient-centred approach to wound care.

Participation in this congress highlights the commitment of TR2Lab, the Clinical Wound Care Unit, and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) to research, knowledge transfer, and evidence-based nursing practice. The congress also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences with healthcare professionals from across Spain and to foster new collaborations in the fields of geriatric nursing, quality of life, and chronic wound management.

This contribution reflects the ongoing efforts of the research team to promote innovation and improve the quality of care and health outcomes for people living with chronic wounds.
