The research in Innovation in wound healing at the TR2Lab, directed by the nurse Ph.D. Marta Ferrer, is focused on applying individualized therapeutic approaches to promote healing of cutaneous chronic wounds.
Currently, we are applying autologous growth factors to promote the skin reepithelialization process and we are successfully using the hydrosurgery method to accelerate the process of wound debridement.
Our long-term goals are to promote that our Clinical Wound Unit led by nurses be capable to innovate in novel individualized therapies and in improving the assistance organizational processes in order to increase the rate of healing cutaneous chronic wounds.
