Clara Masó Albareda presented two e-poster presentations at EWMA International Congress 2025 2

Clara Masó, a member of the TR2Lab, presented two e-poster presentations at the 35th Conference of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), celebrated in Barcelona on 26-28th march 2025.

The titles of the e-posters were “Use of hyperozonized fatty acids protector barrier to restore devitalized skin in hard-to-heal wounds of different aetiologies” (1) and “Combination of Advanced therapies to cope with the challenge of managing Martorell ulcers” (2).

In (1), she talked about hyperozonized fatty acids (HOZFA) compound with protector barrier (HOZFA-B) that acts as a skin protector with a repairing effect. Clara presented a case series of 15 patients with wounds of different aetiologies in the lower extremity to describe the effect of using a HOZFA-B. The outcomes were that in 11 patients the periulcer skin was clinically improved and in 4 patients no enhancements were seen throughout the time this study was carried out. Erythema, small periulcer lesions and maceration were the characteristics this product proved to restore periulceral devitalized skin.

In (2), she talked about a clinical case series of patients who attended a specialized wound unit for the management of Martorell ulcers in the lower extremities. The patients were treated with advanced therapies, including hydrosurgery, platelet-rich plasma and punch skin grafting either individually or in combination.
