Carolina Yacamán Ochoa és professora ajudant doctora del departament de Geografia de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid i pertany al grup d’investigació Paisaje y Territorio en España, Europa Mediterránea y América Latina (UAM). La seva activitat investigadora està dirigida a la recuperació de les relacions coevolutives entre el camp i la ciutat, integrant l’estudi dels sistemes agroalimentaris sostenibles, l’acció col·lectiva i la innovació social. Un altre camp important en les seves recerques és l’anàlisi i disseny de polítiques de conservació, gestió i planificació dels espais agraris periurbans. És membre del consell editorial de la revista Land y la revista Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems.
