The fourth IWHE, helded in December 2014, was focused on the Horizon 2020 challenges for the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia and the prospects of the new Erasmus program. The International Workshop remained a meeting point for teachers, researchers, PhD students, service staff and external organisations to carry out discussions in various fields, along with specialists from around the world.
All universities need to become more international in response to socioeconomic, cultural and academic factors of the globalised world we live in. New technology permeates borders and creates new prospects and opportunities for partnerships.
The inaugural lecture was given by Dr. Curell George, Director of Higher Education and Lifelong Learning and Erasmus and International Affairs of the European Commission, who spoke of the European higher education, the ERASMUS + and the contribuition of Marie Sklodowska-Curie.
Traditional research also thematic workshops were helded, along with training workshops in educational projects and an international research conference on international partnerships.
