The first IWHE, held in December 2011, aimed to increase awareness among the university community. The UVic internationalisation effort is not limited to just a few specific areas of the University but is a shared project that cuts across all departments and centres. That is why we invited international experts in many disciplines to gave plenary lectures and took part in our panels on internationalisation, in support of this drive, which runed parallel to projected currently under way in leading universities around the world.
The second IWHE, held in November 2012, had for a week converted UVic into a forum of discussion on international opportunities and challenges for Catalan universities and for the University of Vic itself and for other business, education and health organisations.
The third IWHE, held in December 2013, had once again turned UVic into a site for discussion on leadership in higher education and other non-profit institutions. The International Workshop was a meeting point where UVic researchers, PhD students and external institutions could took part in discussions in various fields, together with specialists from all over the world.
The fourth IWHE, held in December 2014, was focused on the Horizon 2020 challenges for the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia and the prospects of the new Erasmusprogram. The International Workshop remained a meeting point for teachers, researchers, PhD students, service staff and external organisations to carry out discussions in various fields, along with specialists from around the world.
The fifth IWHE introduced new activities such as Research Days, which were forums for discussion of research carried out at UVic-UCC, with a view to establishing partnerships and proposing joint research projects with national and international organisations and enhancing the international dimension of research carried out at our university. This IWHE had also included training workshops on international educational projects.
