InterHEd Toolkit Now Available in All Project Languages

We are pleased to announce that the InterHEd Toolkit – From Reflection to Action: Introducing Intersectionality in Higher Education is now available in all six project languages: English, Catalan, Spanish, French, German and Polish.

Developed within the InterHEd project, the Toolkit is designed to support higher education teachers, educational developers and university staff in integrating an intersectional perspective into teaching and learning. Moving beyond theoretical discussions, it provides practical guidance, methodologies and resources to help identify and address inequalities in academic settings.

Over the last decades, higher education across Europe has become increasingly diverse, welcoming students with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and aspirations. Yet, greater diversity has not automatically translated into greater equality. Despite their commitment to inclusion, universities often continue to reproduce structural inequalities that subtly yet significantly shape students‘ educational experiences.

In this context, intersectionality offers a valuable framework for understanding how multiple dimensions of identity and inequality-such as gender, race, ethnicity, social class, disability, sexuality or migration status- interact to influence experiences of inclusion and exclusion. Although intersectionality has gained increasing visibility in research and policy, its application to everyday teaching practice remains limited.

The InterHEd Toolkit was created to bridge this gap between theory and practice. It offers concrete strategies, reflective activities, and adaptable tools that support educators in developing more inclusive, equitable, and responsive teaching practices across diverse higher education contexts. We hope this resource inspires educators, researchers and institutions to transform reflection into action and contribute to more inclusive higher education for all.
