The activity consists of developing, in small groups, an innovation project applied to the field of health and Occupational Therapy.

Project goals
The aim of the project is to identify a real need related to health, independence, occupational performance or participation within a specific population and to design an innovative technological solution that could help address that need.
The project also aims to promote international and intercultural learning between Occupational Therapy students from UVic-UCC and Turku UAS, develop students’ communication skills in English within an academic and professional context, encourage the exchange of different perspectives on technology and Occupational Therapy, and foster collaboration and learning between students from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
Activities:
The COIL project will consist of a synchronous online session structured as an International Student Innovation Conference, with the following activities:
- Welcome and programme overview
- Project presentations by groups, focusing on:
- Need and target population
- Technological solution, including the prototype
- Occupational Therapy application and user case
- Questions and international discussion
- Student voting: Turku UAS students will vote for the best UVic-UCC project, and UVic-UCC students will vote for the best Turku UAS project
- Recognition of the Best Turku UAS Project and the Best UVic-UCC Project
- Intercultural reflection
- Closing
