Guillem Casanovas Sanglas, BSc in Biotechnology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). MSc in Advanced Biotechnology (Specialised in Molecular and Therapeutic Biotechnology) at UAB. MSc student in Bioinformatics at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). PhD student at the UVic-UCC program in Bioinformatics at UVIC-UCC/BIB. PhD thesis : “Phylogenetic and Metabolic Analysis of Pond Ecosystems Along Land-Use and Climatic Gradients in Europe: Impact of Pesticide Pollution and Climate Change” (co-supervision with Dr. Mireia Bartrons).
Nayanika Das, MSc in Bioinformatics. PhD student at the UVic-UCC program in Bioinformatics at UVic-UCC/BIBcn. Working in in structure-function relationships in selenoproteins and their protective role in cancer (co-supervision with Prof. Vijay Baladhye, Bioinformatics center, University of Pune) through free energy calculations. PhD thesis: “Selenoproteomic and Bioinformatic Studies of Human Cancer Cell Lines In Response To Selenium Containing Compounds”.
Jing Yang, MSc in Advanced Nursing Clinical Practice(Cancer specialised). PhD student at the UVic-UCC program in Bioinformatics at UVic-UCC/BIBcn. working in biological data analysis (co-supervision with Dr. Adrián López García de Lomana). PhD thesis: “A quantitative view of the heterogeneity-diversity axis in biological systems—from the tumor microenvironment to the pond ecosystem”
