Patricia Celi Medina és llicenciada en Antropologia per la Universitat San Francisco de Quito i Màster en Política Social i Acció Comunitària per la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Actualment és estudiant de doctorat al Programa Interuniversitari d’Estudis de Gènere: Cultura, Societat i Polítiques i investigador predoctoral al grup de recerca Societat, Polítiques i Comunitats Inclusives (SoPCI) de la Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya.
Les seves investigacions s’han basat en qüestions relacionades amb l’economia feminista i la cura remunerada i no remunerada. Especialment, s’ha centrat en analitzar la defamiliació de les cures en règims de benestar social i la contribució dels espais d’atenció a la comunitat i dels serveis públics, relacionats amb la democratització de la provisió i la recepció de les cures a la gent gran.

She’s currently a PhD student at the Interuniversity Program for Gender Studies: Culture, Society and Policies and a predoctoral researcher at the Society, Policies and Inclusive Communities research group (SoPCI) of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia.
Her investigations are based on issues related to Feminist Economies and paid and unpaid care. She focused especially on analizing the defamiliarization of care in welfare regimes, and the contribution of the community care spaces and the public services, related to the democratization of the provision and reception of elderly care.
