TR2Lab Members Teach Chronic Wounds Course at Fundació Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa

Marta Ferrer, Joan Enric Torra, and Clara Masó members of TR2Lab participated as a professor in the course “Treatment of Patients with Chronic Wounds”, at Fundació Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa, Catalonia, Spain which has had five classes of four hours each:

• First class. General concepts about wounds; The healing process; Global assessment of the patient with wounds; Etiologies
• Second class. Categorization of wounds related to dependence; Prevention of pressure ulcers; Incontinence-associated dermatitis and other dependence-related skin lesions; Discussion of cases
• Third class. Preparation of the wound bed; TIMER’s; Discussion of cases
• Fourth class. Lower extremity ulcers: venous, arterial, and diabetic foot ulcers; Vascular assessment: ITB; Venous compression workshop; Sampling for the microbiology laboratory. Procedures and recommendations
• Fifth class. Conventional treatments workshop; Advanced therapies; Discussion of cases; Final Exam
