TR2Lab creates a new research line focused on neuroscience

Proud to create a new research line to study processes related to repair and regeneration mechanisms occurring in the central nervous system from a multidisciplinary perspective.

The new research line in “Neuronal Plasticity in Health and Disease” will be focused on the understanding of molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating neuronal plasticity under physiological and pathological conditions. One of the main interests will be the study of developmental-like mechanisms that remain active in the adult brain with protective roles against neuronal pathologies. The progression of neurodegenerative diseases will be investigated focusing on the events occurring in the extracellular matrix, as well as in the process of proteinopathy as a wide-range mechanism of degeneration.

The new research line in “Neuronal Plasticity in Health and Disease” is directed by Ph.D. Lluís Pujadas Puigdomènech. He is a neuroscientist researcher recently incorporated as Assistant Professor in the Department of Experimental and Methodological Sciences at the Faculty of Health Science and Welfare of the UVic-UCC.

The new research line within the TR2Lab aims to link basic research with translational approximations. In this line, the fruitful transdisciplinary collaboration within TR2Lab and external partners is envisaged and will be promoted.

The line is open for contact and for scientific discussion to explore joint interests. Lluís Pujadas, Ph.D. (lluis.pujadas@uvic.cat)
