From the 17 of June until the 20 of June took place the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOMASS (IconBM 2018), in Bologna (Italy). This conference was organized by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC) and count of the participation of prestigious researchers such as Anthony Dufour, Wout Boerjan and Solange Mussatto, among others. The researcher Dr. Elisabet Marti Serrano, Co-IP from the Valora Project presented the first results obtained in the mark of this project in an oral communication entitled as: “EVALUATION OF PRE-TREATMENTS OF BREWERY’S SPENT GRAIN FOR GROWING BACTERIA IN THE PRODUCTION OF POLYHYDROXYALKANOATES”. This study was performed by de MsC. Daniel Mendez, during his research stay in BETA Tech Center from UVic-UCC.
During the conference, Dr. Marti had the opportunity to share the knowledge and the research in progress with all the main actors in Europe working on this biomass valorization.

Del 17 de junio al 20 de junio tuvo lugar la “INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOMASS” (IconBM 2018), en Bolonia (Italia). Esta conferencia fue organizada por la Asociación Italiana de Ingeniería Química (AIDIC) y contó con la participación de prestigiosos investigadores como Anthony Dufour, Wout Boerjan y Solange Mussatto, entre otros. La investigadora Elisabet Marti Serrano, Co-IP del Proyecto Valora presentó los primeros resultados obtenidos en el marco de este proyecto en una comunicación oral titulada: ““EVALUATION OF PRE-TREATMENTS OF BREWERY’S SPENT GRAIN FOR GROWING BACTERIA IN THE PRODUCTION OF POLYHYDROXYALKANOATES“. Este estudio fue realizado por el MsC. Daniel Mendez, durante su estancia de investigación en el Centro Tecnológico BETA de la UVic-UCC. Durante la conferencia, la Dr. Marti tuvo la oportunidad de compartir el conocimiento y la investigación en curso con los principales actores de Europa que trabajan en la valorización de la biomasa.
