VII International Conference: “Storytelling Revisited.Therapeutic Storytelling & Meaning Making”, which will be held in Vic (Barcelona), November 27, 2024.
Conference Objective
The “Storytelling Revisited” Conference aims to provide a platform for researchers to delve into the use of storytelling within therapeutic contexts, such as mental health and care. This event seeks to explore the therapeutic potential of storytelling through various approaches, including narrative psychotherapy, life stories, and the narratives of patients and caregivers. Additionally, the conference will examine other facets of storytelling, such as its role in meaning-making through the lenses of gender and education.
The conference offers an opportunity for researchers and professionals to share their findings, discuss new theories and practices, and collaborate on innovative approaches for using storytelling to enhance well-being and understand the sense of life.
Organizing Committee
The organizing committee comprises several research groups from the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC). These groups include:
- GLOSSA and GETLIHC, from the Faculty of Education, Translation, Sports and Psychology (FETEP).
- TRACTE, associated with the Faculty of Education, Translation, Sports and Psychology (FETEP) and the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FEC).
- EMPREN, from the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies (FEC).
- ISaMBeS, from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare (FCSB).
Invitation to the 7th Conference
The 7th “Storytelling Revisited” Conference invites researchers to explore how storytelling can be utilized to improve health and deepen the understanding of life’s meaning. This event provides a unique opportunity to investigate how narratives can serve as powerful tools in therapeutic settings and in the construction of personal and social meaning.
The conference will be held at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia on November 27, 2024.
