The QuBI lab was formed in 2017 by Dr. Carlo Manzo (Ramón y Cajal Fellow) at the Faculty of Sciences, Technology, and Engineering of the UVic-UCC. It was recognized as an emerging research group by the AGAUR agency of the Government of Catalonia (2017SGR940). In 2022, it became part of the Bioinformatics and Bioimaging group (BI2, 2021SGR01249).
Our research aims at providing a quantitative view of processes of biomedical interest, by combining advanced image analysis algorithms, imaging tools with single-molecule sensitivity and dynamic imaging capability, and cell biology.
We develop AI tools for microscopy and concentrate on the study of molecular mechanisms in cellular biophysics, with a particular focus on the spatiotemporal organization and dynamics of cell membrane components in health and disease.
