Students from different engineering degrees of UVic-UCC visited Vic School of Superior Art
Design (EASDV) for learning the relation between art and Engineering. At EASDV, students
developed a workshop to learn about traditional casting manufacturing processes and
forging. They were able to produce a metal part, previously designed by them and 3D
printed at UVic-UCC. Students were able to be aware of the relation between modern
manufacturing processes (3D printing) and traditional ones (metal casting), but also about
the relation between engineering and art. This workshop is totally aligned with MECAMAT
research group objectives.
