smARTS theoretical framework and devices prototyped within the MECAMAT research group have been presented at the XII Congreso Ibérico de Arqueometría hosted by the CENIEH – Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana and the SAPAC – Sociedad de Arqueometría Aplicada al Patrimonio Cultural, in Burgos (Spain). The researcher Mainardo Gaudenzi presented a speech titled “smARTS: tecnologia sostenible para el analisis del patrimonio cultural”, pointing out the necessity to re-think the approach to Heritage Science by adopting sustainable and open technology as a complementary tool, and presenting the sub-projects ‘ArtsEXMachina’ and ‘Heritage un the Cloud’.
