Lisa Bruzzone and Judit Molera, members of the Mecamat research group, have recently participated in the project “Identification of nano and micro crystalline compounds in historical and replicated lustres: materials and processing parameters (II)”, carried out at the ALBA Synchrotron from 2 October 2 to 4.
This work forms part of the PhD research of Ruth Sadurní and corresponds to project 2024098586, led by Professor Trinitat Pradell. The experiments were conducted in collaboration with ALBA Synchrotron staff scientist Judit Juanhuix.
The project focuses on the characterization of the nanostructures and crystalline phases present in historical and experimentally reproduced lustres, with the goal of better understanding the materials and production techniques used in these unique ceramic decorations.
This collaboration highlights Mecamat’s active involvement in advanced materials characterization and heritage science, making use of state-of-the-art synchrotron radiation techniques to bridge the gap between scientific research and cultural heritage preservation.
