Art and technology have a common mission, shape and innovate the world around us. Moreover, they share a common and basilar starting point: the creative process. Indeed, the intersection of art and technology is evident all along the human being history, and it is safe to say that art and technology go hand in hand, and enable us to be more creative.

In the field of Arts, innovation is already ongoing by exploiting the huge potentialities of open technology. A wide range of artists is actively involved in integrating arts and open technology, thus continuously innovating the ‘new media art’ developed since the ’60 of the last century by using computer technology as an essential part of the artistic process and production. Open, low cost, and easy to use and hackable technology is opening a new, fresh playground for arts and artists.
