The research group on Mechatronics and Modelling applied to Technology of Materials (MECAMAT) launches the project SmARTs, acronym for ‘Smart technology for analysis and monitoring of Cultural Heritage materials’. The aim of SmARTS is to develop devices for inspection, monitoring and analysis of Cultural Heritage materials by means of multi-analytical approaches, and based on low-cost, open hardware and software. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovations programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement Nº 708527.
Researcher Mainardo Gaudenzi Asinelli (MSCA-IF), has just been incorporated to MECAMAT Group, after his PhD about Analysis of non-ferrous archaeological metals at University College of London (UCL). He is an expert on diagnostic applied to conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage.
