Jaime Aparicio is developing a Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) machine.
RTI is a computational photographic method that captures a subject’s surface shape and colour and enables the interactive re-lighting of the subject from any direction. The enhancement functions of RTI reveal surface information that is not disclosed under direct empirical examination of the physical object.
Brandon Aranibar is developing a 3D scanner for archaeological artefacts. The project consists of making a 3D scanner using two scanning techniques; photogrammetry and laser triangulation, in order to get a high fidelity 3D model and a low cost budget.
