In this edition, the team will be composed of 6 students of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of UVIC-UCC. Regarding the previous season, Javier Rubia, Edgar Gallipoli, Raul Fernández and Nathally Yessenia León continue to join the team and Sergi de la Muelas and Ibrahim Amar join them.
The Garrins Metàl·lics team was created in 2012 to design and build robots capable of participating in robotics competitions at the international level. The first four seasons the team competed in Tarragona, Grenoble, Eindhoven and Saint Louis (USA), winning several prizes within the framework of the First Tech Challenge (FTC) tournament. In the last three years, the team has participated in Eurobot. The last edition of the team won the Eurobot Spain held in Alcalá de Henares and participated in the Eurobot European final in La Roche-Sur-Yon (Pays de la Loire, France).
Now, Garrins Metallic team is already preparing for a new edition of Eurobot at the end of April of 2020 in the state tournament of Alcalá de Henares. The tournament consists of constructing a robot to solve, in a totally autonomous way, a challenge placed on a 2x3m table. The challenge of Eurobot 2020 is called Sail the World! and is based on sailing by the oceans.
