Albert Armisen
Albert Armisen is an Assistant Professor at UVic-UCC, where his research explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, sustainability, and communication in business contexts. His work examines how digital innovation and AI can drive sustainable transformation, with a growing focus on the role of communication in shaping organizational and societal adoption of these technologies.
His research profile has earned him visiting scholar appointments at the Marshall School of Business (USC), Purdue University, and ESADE Business School. He has taught courses spanning Artificial Intelligence, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Computational Thinking.
Albert brings a strong track record of translating research into practice. As co-founder and board member of Kakubi A.G., he led the technological development of blockchain-based, compliant carbon permit transactions — pioneering new infrastructure for environmental markets. This experience grounds his academic work in real-world innovation challenges.
He holds a Ph.D. in Management Sciences (digital innovation and AI) from ESADE, an M.Sc. in Wireless Systems from KTH, and a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from UPC-Barcelona Tech.
