Sport journalist Andrés Corpas is calling for a return to the true values of journalism. With years of experience covering top football teams and working in the media, Corpas believes that style, honesty, and human stories must be at the center of journalism today.
Born in Castellón and now based in Barcelona, Corpas has worked in the media world since he finished his studies. He spent a big part of his career at El Mundo, covering clubs like FC Barcelona and Villarreal. He also worked with Radio Marca, Cadena COPE, Onda Cero and Barça TV. Today, he works at 6Pointer Sports Image and Communications.
Corpas compares old and new ways of doing journalism. Before, there was more time, more contact with players, and more space to think. Now, everything is fast, social media, mixed zones, press rooms, and online content. But for Corpas, one thing hasn’t changed: the good stories.
Andrés Corpas encourages young journalists to find their voice, believe in their ideas, and write differently. “Protect your style, your style is your presentation card”, he says. He also reminds us that journalism is not about ego: the protagonist is the person we are interviewing.
He says the time is now, we must protect journalism, teach the news generations, and remember that your partners are your family.
“There is more journalism than you imagine. The key is the desire to explain stories with your words and your eyes. Keep it”.
