The Operations Research course is part of the Engineering Study Abroad program at UVic–UCC
(https://www.uvic.cat/en/international/study-abroad).
The course has been offered regularly within this program from 2011 to 2026 and is aimed at visiting undergraduate and graduate students with a background in engineering or related fields.
The course introduces the formulation and solution of decision-making problems using mathematical and computational approaches. Topics include linear and integer programming, network models, dynamic programming, and introductory stochastic methods. Emphasis is placed on translating real problems into formal models and on the use of algorithms to obtain and interpret solutions.
