Miquel Monés Pederzini holds a degree in Environmental Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Local Agroecological Dynamization from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as a master’s degree in Agroecology from the International University of Andalusia. Despite studying different aspects related to agroecology, such as the impact of climate change on urban gardens or the relationship between landscape, socio-economic models, and rural depopulation, his studies have primarily focused on Pastoralism. Thus, he has participated in agroecological dynamization projects, such as the Extensive livestock diagnosis of the Montseny Natural Park and the Agricultural contract of the Les Gavarres Consortium. In addition, he has also been involved in research projects, such as the Characterization of the territorialization potential of bovine livestock systems in the Pyrenees. Currently, his work is focused on the REPAST and PASTINNOVA projects, where he investigates the socio-economic and sociopolitical interactions underlying small ruminant livestock systems using the Follow-the-thing methodology. Furthermore, through these projects, he aims to contribute to the analysis of the resilience of Pastoralism in the face of sudden disturbances, with special attention to adaptation strategies concerning the management of uncertainty.
