Office 365 Pro Plus Education is a service which Microsoft gives for free to educative institutions and which the Universitat de Vic – Universitat CentralOffice 365 de Catalunya gives to students and workers through the pacts of Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) with this business.

With other services, it includes the full version of Microsoft Office on the cloud and the possibility of installing this package on your devices.

Other than the basic Microsoft Office 2016 —Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote— it incorporates other tools like Teams, Outlook or OneDrive, which gives us a 1TB cloud space that lets you share your documents with any member of the university community or with any external person.

Microsoft keeps adding new servides to its suite of products. For that reason, it is possible that you can see tools that were not contemplated before while you have your service activated.

UVic-UCC activates automatically the cloud licence for Office 365 to:

  • students,
  • hired administration and service staff (PAS), and
  • hired teachers and researchers (PDI).

If you have this service active, you have two ways of accessing it:

  • From the icon Icona Office 365 that you will find in the “Service” part of the front page of the Virtual Campus (“Campus Virtual”)
  • Accessing directly https://portal.office.com

To authenticate, select the “UVIC-UCC” account type and use the Virtual Campus access credentials:

If you also have the license for Office 365 ProPlus active, you can install Office 2016 to 5 PCs or MACs and download the apps to 5 phones or tablets more.

The available platforms are:

  • Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
  • MAC OS X 10.5.8 or superior (Macs with an Intel proccessor)
  • Android OS 4.0 or superior: Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, OneDrive i Delve apps
  • IPhone – IOS 6.1 or superior. (IPhone 4 or superior): Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, OneDrive apps
  • Windows Phone
  1. Access Office 365 on the cloud with the computer where you want to install Office 2016.
  2. Click on the option Instal·la el programari that you will find on the front page. Automatically an installation file will dowload to you computer. Execute it.
  3. Give permission to let the app make changes on your device. The installation will start. you must stay connected online during this process.
  4. Once the installation finalizes, open Office, log in using your UVic account (name.user@uvic.cat) and you will be able to use it.

Once the installation is done, you have to connect your computer to Internet, at least, once every 30 days to auto-renew the usage licence.

To install the apps on your mobile devices or tablets you have to access the app store on your devices and dowload the apps that you need.

Your license will remain active while you are registered or you are part of the hired staff of UVic-UCC as a PAS or PDI.

Onde your vinculation with UVic-UCC ends you will be able to access the service during 6 months before your license is deactivated. Passed this deadline, you can change your subscription to any other compercial option available.
