Jacint Altimiras is an epidemiologist of the Clinical Epidemiological Unit of the University Hospital of Vic (Hospital Consortium of Vic).
He provides support for the statistical analysis of the data generated by the research activity of the TR2 Lab. His research work is currently focused on the study of risk factors, distribution and frequency of diseases in time and space. The work adopts a cross-disciplinary approach encompassing geriatrics, notifiable diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurology, oncology and paediatrics, among others.
Jacint Altimiras holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1984), a specialist qualification in Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Hygiene awarded by the French State (1991) and a diploma in Advanced Studies (2001).
