Marta Casals presented her master’s degree project titled “Efficiency of a consultation of Telewound in the treatment of leg ulcer in a Complex Wounds Unit” in “XII Simposio Nacional sobre úlceras por presión y heridas crónicas” celebrated in Valencia.

The main objective of the study was to assess the efficiency of a consultation of telewound in the treatment of leg ulcer in a chronic wounds unit. The secondary objectives were a) compare the response time in the telewound consultation with the response time in the conventional care service; b) determine if ulcers evolution is the same in both methods; c) study the number of patients with wound complications that require referrals to the chronic wounds unit or other health units; and d) decide if the communication flow works well and e) quantify how they effect in modify the number of patients which receive a different treatment than the initial recommendations.
