Calliing all SPRING members ! On Thursday, April 7th at 6 pm UK time, SPRING will host its first book launch. You are all warmly invited to attend. The event, which will last for an hour and a half, wlll be chaired by Dr Paul Widdup, Senior Academic in Sport Management at the University of Manchester. Paul will facilitate our authors´presentations and the discussion about their most recent work. The event will feature three recently published books by SPRING members: Russell Holden will speak about ¨Cricket and Contemporary Society in Britain´. Dr David Storey will introduce us to ´Football, Place and National Identity´. Xavier Ginesta will address the main themes of ´The Disneyisation of Football´.You can find more details about the event on the posters used to promote it. The launch of these books promises to provoke a stimulating debate on differing facets of the contemporary sporting world.
