
Healing Arts Barcelona is the first edition in Spain of the global Healing Arts & Health movement. From 20 to 26 October 2025, it will be held in Barcelona and Catalonia, led by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The event seeks to integrate the arts in health into public policies to improve physical, mental and social well-being, bringing together institutions, professionals and communities to foster collaboration and drive systemic change.

Conference: Creative Pathways to Health: Research and Practice in Arts-Based Interventions

Building an Arts & Health Ecosystem.- A research team from the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, New York University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Vic will conduct a comprehensive mapping of the Arts in Health ecosystem in Catalonia. The study will systematically document and analyze the diversity of existing initiatives and actors, and will become a vital resource for guiding public policy, strategic collaborations, and community engagement processes. This evidence base should facilitate the sustained integration of the arts into the country’s health systems.

- How does participation in cultural and artistic activities impact health, well-being, and social cohesion? Research aims to identify key factors and barriers to foster more inclusive cultural engagement.

As part of Healing Arts Barcelona, the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) is promoting a week of activities (October 20–26) featuring dance, music, poetry, visual arts, theater, and photography.
