Healing Arts Barcelona is the first edition in Spain of the global Healing Arts & Health movement. From 20 to 26 October 2025, it will be held in Barcelona and Catalonia, led by the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The event seeks to integrate the arts in health into public policies to improve physical, mental and social well-being, bringing together institutions, professionals and communities to foster collaboration and drive systemic change.

Motto of the Healing Arts: The arts take care of us, culture is health.

At the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), we are proud to contribute to this transformative initiative through a cluster of activities that explore the intersection of arts, health, and research:

  • ecosystem of arts HABBuilding an Arts & Health Ecosystem.

    • A research team from the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, New York University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Vic will conduct a comprehensive mapping of the Arts in Health ecosystem in Catalonia. The study will systematically document and analyze the diversity of existing initiatives and actors, and will become a vital resource for guiding public policy, strategic collaborations, and community engagement processes. This evidence base should facilitate the sustained integration of the arts into the country’s health systems.
