Andrea Fuente-Vidal holds a Degree in Physiotherapy, a MSc in Physical Activity for health and a PhD in Sports Sciences. She specializes in movement science, active therapy and health promotion.
Her most recent lines of research have focused around movement interventions in individuals with moderate cognitive decline, cancer survivors and older adults. Her PhD focused on adherence to physical activity interventions, especially when delivered through electronic means, such as mobile apps.
Andrea joined our Team at Universitat de Vic on September 1, 2022. She is project manager for a number of EU-funded projects, including Join4Joy project (Erasmus+) on physical activity for people 65 years old and above, RECETAS Project (Horizon-2020 programme) which focuses on nature-based social prescribing to help combat loneliness, PROCON project (Erasmus+) for continence care innovation in nursing homes and KOKU Bladder for the development of a mobile application to promote bladder health.
Since 2016, Andrea also occupies a position as an Associate Professor at EUSES (University of Barcelona, University of Girona), where she lectures to students from all over the world in an international Degree in Physiotherapy.
