He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental and Methodological Sciences of the Faculty of Health and Welfare Sciences, University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia.
He is also Adjunct Professor of Molecular Biology at the Department of Biomedicine (University of Barcelona).
He holds a degree in Biochemistry by Porto University (Portugal), Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Cell Biology (equivalent a MSc) and PhD in Neurobiology by Barcelona University.
He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Neurosciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2006-2008) and at the Institute of Biomedical Research August Pi i Sunyer, IDIBAPS (2008-2015).
His main line of research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuroinflammation, such as neuron-glia communication and transcriptional regulation, associated with neurodegenerative diseases. He has published more than 25 articles in indexed journals.
