He has a degree in Biology (UB, 1997) and a PhD in Sociology (UAB, 2012). His doctoral thesis focused on civic engagement and welfare attitudes. Between 2004 and 2012 he was involved in projects aimed to meet patients’ needs related to participation in health care decision-making, health literacy and self-management.  

In 2013 he shifted his focus on research in the field of active ageing and community health. He has participated in several national and international competitive projects such as AEQUALISBE-SAFESITLESSAPTITUDEHAPPY BONESRECETAS and JOIN4JOY, combining the of qualitative and quantitative methods. 

Since 2021 he is an Associate Lecturer at the Faculty of Health in the Department of Social Sciences and Community Health at the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing Sciences of the University of Vic-UCC, where he currently teaches Public Health and Culture, Society & Health.
