Professor at the Department of Public Health and the Graduate Program in Public Health at Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in Brazil.

He was licensed in Odontology by UFRN and has a Master in Public Health by the same university in 2004 and 2006 respectively. Dyego is a PhD in Microbiology and Preventive Medicine by the University of Zaragoza (2011), with a predoctoral internship at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) – World Health Organization (WHO).

He’s collaborating with the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia as a visiting professor, where he also collaborates with the Research Group on Methodology, Methods, Models and Outcomes of Health and Social Sciences.

Research areas: Epidemiology / Biostatistics / Oncology / Gerontology / Chronic Diseases; publication of 5 books and 15 book chapters.

His more than 200 publications have received more than 2,000 citations as of March 2024.
