Cristina works as a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing of the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC), and she is a member of the research group on Methodology, Methods, Models and Outcomes of Health and Social Sciences (M3O). 

 

She received her degree in Civil Engineering (2009) from Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), her degree in Physiotherapy (2009) from Ramon Llull University, and her Master’s degree in Secondary Education (2016) from International University of La Rioja. She received a predoctoral fellowship in physiotherapy (2017) and her PhD in Comprehensive Care and Health Services (2022) from UVic-UCC. She received a Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowship (2022) from UPC, and she did a research stay at the Biomechanical Engineering Lab (BIOMEC, CREB-UPC) (October 2022 – March 2023). 

 

Her research interests include human motion analysis and neurorehabilitation. During her PhD, she identified clinically relevant gait parameters in children with cerebral palsy, and her current research is focused on objective assessment tools applicable in clinical and/or real-life environments. 

 

She worked as a project manager at the research office of Institut Guttmann (2010-2014). There, she was also a member of the Teaching and Research Committee (2013-2014) and professor in kinematics, kinetics and electromyography of the Master’s degree in Neurorehabilitation (2013-14). 

 

She has participated in different projects such as “REHABILITA: Tecnologías disruptivas para la rehabilitación del futuro” (CENIT-2009), “WAY: Wearable interfaces for hand function recovery” (FP7-ICT-2011-7), “SENSINGTOYS: Sistemas electrónicos de sensorización integrados en neurorrehabilitación y terapia ocupacional del miembro superior” (INNPACTO-2012), and “NIMBLE: Promoviendo los mecanismos neuroplásticos con optimización basada en modelos de una nueva terapia robótica de rehabilitación para asistencia de la marcha” (PID-2021). She has co-authored 8 articles, 14 conference papers and a book chapter.
