The EPISOL Project is a collaborative initiative focused on understanding the prevalence and impact of loneliness within the Garrotxa region. This observational epidemiological study is conducted in partnership with the Hospital d’Olot. The project aims to analyze and address the rising issue of social isolation, which has become a significant public health concern, particularly in rural areas like La Garrotxa. The findings will help inform strategies to mitigate loneliness and improve the well-being of vulnerable populations.
The team of this project brings together an interdisciplinary team of professionals: Glòria Bassets-Pagès (director of primary care at the Fundació Hospital d’Olot) alongside the M₃O members Laura Coll-Planas (RECETAS), Jaume-Miquel March-Armengual and Javier Jerez-Roig; and the contributions from experts: Silvia Palomé, Lali Rodríguez, Laura Teixidor-Reixac (psychopedagogue and social educator), Olga Bellorbi (IRIS-CC) Joel Pique and Laia Briones, coordinator of ISaMBeS.
