She is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Experimental and Methodological Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare in the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia.


During her PhD, she conducted a research studying the neuromuscular end plate changes in a mouse model of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a neurodegenerative disease of genetic origin that affects children. The research group where she studied her doctorate is leading in the study of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and with her incorporation the group started the study of SMA. Prior to the doctorate, Dr. Dachs was working for four years at Salisbury District Hospital (Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust), where she combined the work of genetic diagnosis, specifically in the study of chromosomal abnormalities that can be found in peripheral blood, amniotic fluid, chorionic villus, and spinal cord, and as a research fellow working on a project about multiple myeloma at the Southampton University, a multicentre project.
